Knife Care Guide
Good care helps keep kitchen cutlery clean, organized and ready for its intended use. Always follow any instructions supplied with the specific product.
After each use
- Handle the blade carefully and keep fingers clear of the edge.
- Wash by hand with mild dish soap and water unless the product's confirmed instructions state otherwise.
- Dry the blade and handle thoroughly before storage.
- Do not leave a knife loose in a sink or submerged where it cannot be seen.
Cutting surfaces
Use a stable cutting board appropriate for kitchen knives. Very hard surfaces such as glass, stone or metal can damage an edge.
Storage
Store knives securely in a sheath, block, rack or other suitable holder that protects the edge and prevents accidental contact. Keep knives out of reach of children and anyone who should not handle them.
Sharpening
Use a sharpening method suitable for the knife's blade and follow the tool manufacturer's instructions. If you are unsure, seek a qualified professional.
Safety
Carry a knife with the point directed safely downward and the edge away from your body. Never try to catch a falling knife. Do not use a damaged handle or blade; stop using it and contact the seller for guidance.
Confirm model-specific care instructions before publication. Do not describe a knife as dishwasher-safe, rust-proof or maintenance-free unless documented for that model.
